Make a Lasting Impact

Mission Working Dogs is a tax-exempt public nonprofit (EIN 85-2187272). Our new training center is under construction in Oxford, Maine. Please inquire about sponsorship opportunities on the campus or donate in honor of a loved one. You can also donate and receive naming rights for a puppy for $2500 or sponsor a dog through training for $5000 and receive regular updates on the puppy as it progresses through training.

Raise a Puppy

Puppy Raisers are critical to each dog's success. We are looking for full and part-time puppy raisers. Puppy Raisers start on a week-by-week basis to make sure it's a good fit for you and the puppy.

Sponsor a Puppy

Puppy sponsors are vital to our mission. By sponsoring a puppy, you will be supporting a puppy's training from birth to when they are matched with their handler.

Volunteer

We are looking for volunteers to help in various areas from fundraising to assisting with puppy socialization and training.

Donate a Puppy

We are looking for donations of puppies from reputable breeders who do OFA and/or Pennhip for hip, elbow, heart, and eyes as well as DNA testing. If you are a breeder and would like to know more about donating a puppy click the button below. We'll get back to you with information on how to donate a puppy for a service dog.

Front of Book - Lucky, Little Guy, Big Mission

LUCKY: Little Guy, BIG Mission!

A true story about Lucky, a little puppy that only Christy Gardner, an Army Veteran who has two prosthetic legs, saw potential in. He was a little puppy born with an unusual front leg. Others saw him with a flaw; Christy saw him with lots of love to give.
The story of Lucky is that of a special puppy with an incredible personality and a special mission. Who knows what his fate would have been if Christy had not given him a helping hand? Christy immediately felt a connection with him. Read how Christy and her service dog, Moxie, took Lucky into their home. He will warm your heart and put a smile on your face. Moxie teaches Lucky that he can do things like other puppies can, he just has to figure out his own way.
This story is about anti-bullying, and that being different is ok, and to never, never give up…happy trails!
